DS3 Stiff Steering and Vibration

Hello. I'm experiencing some issues with my 2016 Citroen DS3 (gasoline engine) with 111481 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed that the steering requires considerably more effort, as if the power steering is failing intermittently. Additionally, the steering wheel vibrates and shakes, especially at lower speeds. I suspect a defective steering angle sensor, possibly with faulty coding. Could this be related to the electronic stability program?

I had a similar issue with my DS3. The symptoms sound familiar. Did the problems start after a wheel alignment, or any work on the suspension?

Thanks for your reply. No, there hasn't been any wheel alignment or suspension work recently. The problem seemed to appear spontaneously. Do you remember what the eventual diagnosis was in your case? And how much did the repair cost?

It was the steering angle sensor coding, just as you suspected. I recommend visiting a workshop to confirm the diagnosis and get a quote, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a similar issue.

Thanks a lot for the information. I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right - the steering angle sensor's coding was faulty. They recoded it, and now everything is working as expected. The total cost was 195€. I really appreciate your help!
