DS4 Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Issue

I'm having trouble with my 2015 Citroen DS4 diesel. It's done about 55552 km. I think it's the fuel filter heater. I'm getting an error, reduced power, poor response, increased fuel consumption, and uneven idling. I've checked for fuel leaks and the lines look okay. Could a bad fuel filter heater cause all this?

I had something similar with my Volvo V60, though it was petrol. I also had power loss and rough idling. The error memory pointed to the fuel system. Have you checked the cable or plug connection to the heater? That was my problem, causing the engine to act up.

Thanks! I'll check the cable and plug more closely. How did the faulty connection show up in your Volvo? Was the engine light on, and were the symptoms constant or did they come and go?

Yes, the engine light was always on in my Volvo. The symptoms were pretty consistent, especially when it was cold. Because the fuel wasn't heating right, the engine management went into a reduced power mode. It's probably best to get it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly. The cable or plug is just one possibility.

Thanks so much for the info! I took it to a workshop like you said. It was the cable connection to the fuel filter heater. They fixed it for 95€, and now it's running perfectly!
