DS4 Diesel Jerking and Stalling

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2014 Citroen DS4 diesel. It's got 126929 km on the clock and jerks when I accelerate. The check engine light keeps popping on, and there's an error stored, but I'm not sure what it means. I've also noticed reduced engine power, and sometimes it even stalls when idling. It's running really rough, and there's a strong exhaust smell too. Could this be a manifold pressure issue or a gasket leak somewhere? Any ideas about what could be causing this before I take it to a mechanic?

Sounds like a vacuum leak, possibly your intake manifold. If the check engine light is on and you're getting those symptoms, it's pulling unmetered air. Get it checked soon!

Thanks! So, if it is the intake manifold, what would cause those scorching issues you mentioned? And how much am I looking at to get it fixed, roughly?

Scorching on the intake manifold suggests a leak, probably around a gasket. The heat and pressure eventually degrade the material. As for cost, it really depends on the extent of the damage and labor rates. Best to get a quote from a workshop. Could be pricey.

Okay, I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the intake manifold was leaking due to scorching. They replaced it, and it cost me 1180€. Thanks for the help!
