DS4 Oil Pressure Warning

I'm stressed. My 2018 Citroen DS4 diesel has an issue. The mileage is at 237306 km. A warning light appeared, and now the oil pressure lamp is always on. The oil level seems fine, so I suspect oil contamination. Has anyone else seen this? I might have exceeded the maintenance interval.

That sounds familiar. I own a DS4, not the same year, and I had similar symptoms last year. In my case, it was oil sludge building up and contaminating everything. Have you noticed any unusual engine noises, or maybe a slight loss of power with the warning lights?

Now that you mention it, there might be a slight roughness to the engine sound at idle. Power loss is hard to say, maybe a little. If it was sludge, what did you do to fix it? Did you try any oil additives first, or did you go straight to a full oil change and engine flush?

That roughness is another red flag for sludge, or possibly an oil leak. I didn't mess with additives, I went straight to a reliable workshop. Considering the warning lights and the mileage, it's the safest option. They'll be able to properly diagnose the contamination and ensure it hasn't caused lasting damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right, the engine oil was contaminated because I exceeded the maintenance interval. They did a full oil change, new filter, and cleaned everything. Cost me 165€, but at least it's sorted. I won't be skipping any more oil changes!
