DS5 Air Suspension Compressor Fault

My 2018 Citroen DS5 with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The air suspension won't lift anymore, just leans to one side. The dash is lit up with error messages, and the headlights are pointing all over the place. I've scanned it and it's throwing codes related to the compressor. I've checked the obvious stuff, but I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone else had similar woes?

Sounds familiar! I've got a DS5 too. Had almost the same thing happen last year. Felt like my car was doing the limbo! For me, it was also related to the air suspension. Have you checked the relay? That's often overlooked, and can cause weird intermittent issues. It's like a tiny switch that decides whether the compressor gets power or not. If that's faulty, you'll get random errors and the compressor might not run at all.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. You mentioned it felt similar. Did your system throw similar errors, specifically related to the compressor? And where exactly is the relay located? I've been digging around, but haven't spotted it yet. Is it easy to get to, or am I going to need to dismantle half the car?

Yep, the errors were definitely pointing towards the compressor. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. The relay on mine was in the engine compartment, near the fuse box – a little black cube. Honestly, I couldn't be bothered troubleshooting, and just took it to my local shop. They sorted it pretty quickly. It was a faulty connector in the end. Definitely worth getting it checked out professionally, unless you're really confident with electrical diagrams.

Appreciate the help. Turns out you were spot on. It was a corroded connector on the compressor. Cleaned it up and all is working normally again. Cost me 95€ for the part and labor to get it sorted, so a cheap fix.
