DS5 Blower Motor and AUC Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Citroen DS5 hybrid experienced a blower motor malfunction, with diagnostics indicating an AUC sensor fault. The AUC sensor, related to the auto recirculation function, could indirectly affect climate control if faulty. The issue was traced to damaged wiring to the AUC sensor, which was repaired, resolving the blower motor problem.

If the cable or plug connecting the AUC sensor are defective, could that cause the blower motor to stop functioning entirely? I'm trying to understand the causal link.

It's not the most direct cause, but a faulty signal from the AUC sensor, due to wiring issues, could disrupt the climate control system's logic. It's possible. Given the mileage on your vehicle (242167 km), corrosion or physical damage to the wiring is plausible. I would recommend a workshop visit.

Thanks for the advice. I inspected the wiring and plug. I arranged for a professional check. The mechanic confirmed that the harness to the AUC sensor was damaged and replaced it with repair cost of 95€. Now everything works again as expected.

I had a similar issue with my DS5. The AUC sensor, sometimes called the BMW AUC sensor, plays a role in the auto recirculation function. If it's faulty, it could influence the climate control, though directly stopping the blower is unusual. Have you checked the cable or plug connections?
