DS5 Control Unit Communication Error
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Citroen DS5 is experiencing a control unit communication error, leading to engine overheating, a check engine light, and coolant spillage, suggesting cooling system overpressure. The OBD scanner indicates a communication fault, possibly due to a defective cable or plug. A similar issue was resolved by taking the car to a workshop, which is recommended for further diagnosis and repair.

The diagnostic trouble code indicates a general communication error related to one of the control modules. I haven't been able to isolate the specific module causing the problem. Did you manage to pinpoint which control unit was failing to communicate in your case?

Honestly, I didn't manage it myself. After chasing my tail for a while, I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it pretty quickly. Might be worth swallowing your pride and doing the same.

Understood. Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I will schedule an appointment with a trusted repair shop to diagnose the problem further. The projected repair costs are estimated to be around 95€, which seems reasonable. I appreciate your input.

Sounds familiar. I've had similar problems with my DS5. Is your car throwing any specific diagnostic trouble codes, or is it a general communication error?
