Thanks for the quick reply! I'm at 170097 km. Assuming that the high pressure pump needs replacement, is it worth it? I'm worried about fuel economy going down the drain.

Given the symptoms and mileage, a defective high-pressure fuel pump seems probable. Fuel economy could indeed suffer if the pump isn't functioning correctly. It's best to get a professional diagnosis and consider a replacement. A failing pump can also damage other components.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out that the high pressure pump was indeed defective, causing the fuel volume regulator error. They replaced it for 1510€. Hopefully, this will solve the issues!

Hello. The symptoms you describe, including the check engine light, stalling at idle, and reduced engine power, are indeed consistent with a fuel volume regulator issue. The regulator controls the amount of fuel entering the high-pressure pump. What mileage are you currently sitting at?
