DS5 Lighting Fault

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2013 Citroen DS5 diesel. My lights seem to have a mind of their own. I get a 'Fault in the lighting' message on the dash, and sometimes the lights just switch on by themselves. I plugged in an OBD reader and it shows an error stored in the memory, but nothing specific. Any ideas before I take it to a garage?

That sounds familiar! I've got a DS5 too, and I had a similar problem with the tail lights a while back. Have you checked the connections on the light switch itself? It might be a faulty connector, or even the switch going bad.

Thanks for the reply! Where exactly is the light switch connector located? Is it difficult to get to, or should I just leave it to the professionals?

It's behind the steering wheel column, you can access to the dimmer switch after disassembling the plastic cover, but honestly, unless you're comfortable working with car electrics, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. It could be something simple like a loose connection, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks! I took it to a local mechanic. You were spot on, it was indeed a faulty plug connection. They sorted it for 95€. Appreciate the help!
