DS5 Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure

I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Citroen DS5 diesel. The multifunction steering wheel has completely stopped working. I'm getting an error stored in the system, and basically none of the buttons work anymore. It's got about 28,000 km on it. I've checked the fuses, but nothing seems obviously blown. Any ideas?

Oh, that sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my old Vauxhall Astra. The horn and the radio controls on the steering wheel just died. I think it might be related to the clock spring or a bad connection somewhere in the steering column. Worth checking!

Clock spring? I haven't heard of that before. Is it a big job to check, or is it something I can probably do myself? I'm okay with basic stuff, but I don't want to mess anything up.

Yeah, the clock spring allows the steering wheel to turn while maintaining electrical connections. Honestly, on my Astra, it was a bit fiddly to get to, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as a faulty cable connection in the steering wheel itself. It's probably best to get it checked out by a professional, especially with airbag stuff involved!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on! They said it was a defective cable connection in the steering wheel. They fixed it for about 95€.
