Thanks for the quick response. So, you think it's likely the connector and not the wiper switch itself?

In my case, the switch was fine. A visual inspection of the connector and wiring harness revealed some corrosion on the pins. I suggest you visually inspect the connector for corrosion or damage. After this, wiggle test the wiring harness a little bit by little while the car is running and wipers activated. If nothing helps, you should visit a workshop.

Took it to the shop, and you were right! It was a corroded connector on the steering column. Repair cost 95€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my older Volvo V70 once. The wipers would just stop mid-sweep. Turned out to be a bad connection in the steering column wiring harness where it plugs into the wiper switch. Have you checked the continuity of the wiring harness and the connector pins on the switch itself?
