Ducato Airbag Warning Light
Summary of the thread
The airbag warning light on a 2023 Fiat Ducato electric with high mileage has illuminated, raising concerns. Potential causes include loose connections under the seats, particularly related to seatbelt pretensioners and side airbags, or a defective crash sensor. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop with diagnostic tools to ensure the airbag system's safety and functionality.

I've not had any work done to the seats recently or any modifications at all. Could a defective crash sensor cause this?

A faulty crash sensor could be the culprit, but those tend to throw more specific codes. More likely it's a general wiring or connector issue somewhere in the airbag system. Without pulling codes, you're kinda guessing. Given it's still relatively new, though high mileage, I'd seriously consider taking it to a workshop with diagnostic tools. Much safer in the long run to have the restraint system checked properly than risking a faulty deployment (or non-deployment) in an accident. Seems like the cable or plug connection of the component could be defective.

Appreciate your thorough advice. I'll get it checked at a workshop. It appears the likely repair cost will be about 95€. Thank you again!

Airbag lights are never fun. Could be a bunch of things, but given it's a '23 model Ducato, I'd start by checking all the connections under the seats, particularly to the seatbelt pretensioners and side airbags. Sometimes just wiggling them can temporarily fix it if it's a loose connection. Any recent work done, like seat removal or any kind of modification?
