Ducato Cruise Control and Starting Problems

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2022 Fiat Ducato (gasoline engine). It's got about 218k km on it. Lately, I've been getting an error in the memory, the gear selection isn't showing up on the speedometer, and my cruise control is completely dead. Also, sometimes the engine just refuses to start! I'm thinking it might be a bad clutch pedal switch, maybe a dodgy cable or plug. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Fiat Ducato is experiencing issues with cruise control, gear selection display, and starting problems. The suspected cause is a faulty clutch pedal switch or related electrical connections. A recommendation is made to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the issue. The problem is confirmed to be a faulty connection to the clutch pedal switch, which is resolved at a workshop.

I had similar symptoms in my Ducato. Error in memory, cruise control malfunction, and occasional starting problems. The gear selection display issue wasn't present in my case, but it could be related. Did you check the clutch switch itself for any physical damage or loose connections?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did have a look at the switch, but honestly, I'm no expert. It looked okay to my untrained eye, and I wiggled the connector a bit, but no luck. Where exactly should I be looking for damage or loose connections? Any specific areas that are prone to failure?

While a visual inspection is a good starting point, a proper diagnosis often requires specialized equipment. The fact that you're experiencing multiple symptoms simultaneously strongly suggests an electrical issue related to the clutch switch circuit. Given the potential complexity, and given the risk of incorrect diagnosis, I would highly recommend taking it to a trusted workshop to have it thoroughly inspected. They can pinpoint the exact fault and ensure a reliable repair. It sounds like a defective cable or plug connection of the component is the likely cause.

Thanks for the advice! I suspected it was beyond my abilities. I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty connection to the clutch pedal switch. 95€ later and it's all sorted. Appreciate the help!
