Ducato Electric Limp Mode

My 2023 Fiat Ducato Electric is throwing me for a loop. Just hit 77492 km, and now the transfer case seems to be stuck in limp mode. Gearbox slips and shifts like it's stirring soup! Traction control light is on. ABS seems to be acting weird too. I've scanned it and getting a cascade of fault codes, mostly powertrain malfunctions and ABS-related. Could a dodgy ABS sensor really nuke the whole drivetrain like this?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Fiat Ducato Electric is experiencing issues with the transfer case stuck in limp mode, gearbox slipping, and traction control and ABS lights on. The problem is suspected to be linked to a faulty ABS sensor, causing a cascade of powertrain and ABS-related fault codes. After clearing the codes and confirming the ABS-related ones return, it is suggested that the interconnected vehicle systems could allow a faulty ABS module to trigger limp mode. The issue was resolved under warranty by reprogramming the faulty ABS module, restoring normal vehicle function.

Limp mode, huh? And you're thinking it's all stemming from the ABS? Seems like a stretch, doesn't it? You sure you've checked the basics first? Like battery voltage and condition, and all the connections to the transfer case actuator? Before you go blaming the ABS, have you cleared the codes and seen which ones come back immediately? Or are you just reading the whole history?

Good point about the basics. Battery's solid, connections seem fine visually but haven't load tested the actuator wiring, will do. Yes, I cleared the codes and a bunch came back instantly, mostly ABS-related ones and the transfer case limp mode one. That's why I'm leaning towards ABS causing this. Could consequential faults from the ABS trigger the limp mode?

Consequential faults, eh? Let's just say, modern vehicle systems are incredibly interconnected. Anything is possible. All these modules pinging each other constantly. If your ABS is spitting out garbage data, who knows what that electric Ducato will do? Best you take it to a shop.

Thanks for the reality check. I was hoping it was something simple, but it seems like chasing ABS gremlins is beyond my tools and knowledge. Off to the shop it goes! And would you believe, it was all covered under warranty, costing me absolutely nothing. It was indeed a faulty ABS module throwing everything else into chaos. They reprogrammed and now it drives like a charm again.
