Dynasty brake pedal feedback

Experiencing strange feedback from the brake pedal on my 2005 Hyundai Dynasty with a gasoline engine. Mileage is at 100960 km. I suspect it might be related to undervoltage affecting the brake system. Has anyone encountered something similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Hyundai Dynasty owner is experiencing unusual feedback from the brake pedal and suspects it might be related to undervoltage affecting the brake system. A similar issue in another vehicle was caused by sticking brake calipers due to corrosion, which was misinterpreted as an undervoltage issue by the car's computer. The suggested solution is to inspect the brake system, particularly the calipers and pads, and consider a workshop visit for a thorough check. The problem was resolved by addressing worn brake pads and caliper issues.

That's interesting. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series, though it manifested differently. It wasn't just pedal feel, but also some squealing from the disc brakes at low speeds. Turned out the brake calipers were sticking due to corrosion, which the car's computer interpreted as an undervoltage issue. Are you experiencing any noises alongside the pedal feedback?

Thanks for the insight! No squealing, just the weird feedback. Could you elaborate on how the corrosion was linked to the electrical system in your BMW? Trying to understand if the brake pads might also be the problem.

The corrosion created increased resistance in the brake system, specifically within the brake calipers. The car's computer detected this as a voltage drop when activating the brakes, triggering a cascade of errors. Replacing the calipers and ensuring proper grounding fixed it. In your case, with no squealing, it could be a different electrical issue or a problem within the brake system itself, but I'd recommend a workshop visit.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I took it to a local workshop, and you were right - it turned out to be a combination of worn brake pads and issues within the calipers causing the strange feedback. The repair cost was 240€.
