Dynasty Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Hyundai Dynasty was experiencing overheating and a check engine light, suspected to be due to a defective radiator fan potentially caused by a faulty speed sensor. Another owner with a similar issue suggested checking the thermal switch and fan blade for damage. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty speed sensor, which, once replaced, resolved the overheating and check engine light issues.

When you had this, did it also point to a faulty speed sensor, or was something else with the cooling system or radiator?

To be honest, I didn't dive too deep myself. I took it straight to a workshop. The speed sensor was the culprit, triggering the fan issue. They replaced it, and it solved the overheating. Best to get it checked out properly.

The workshop confirmed the defective speed sensor. Total repair cost was 250€. The new sensor fixed the radiator fan issue, resolving the overheating and check engine light. Your advice was invaluable!

Hey! I've got a Dynasty too, and I had a similar problem a while back. Overheating and the check engine light, just like you described. Have you checked the thermal switch or for damage to the fan blade? Engine cooling can be tricky.
