Dynasty Reduced Engine Power

I've got a 2005 Hyundai Dynasty with a gasoline engine. Recently, I've noticed reduced engine power and a fault code keeps popping up. Mileage is at 162080 km. Diagnostic points to some kind of chip tuning issue from a third-party, which I never authorized. Anyone else run into something similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Hyundai Dynasty experienced reduced engine power and a recurring fault code, suspected to be caused by unauthorized third-party chip tuning. The issue was resolved by resetting the ECU at a workshop, which restored normal engine performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had the same issue with my old Saab 9-3, though it was a different engine. Reduced power, constant error lights. Was the third party something to do with a performance increase?

I have no idea if the previous owner installed anything. How did you solve it?

Turns out, some previous owner had fiddled with the ECU trying to boost performance, and it messed everything up. My mechanic suggested an ECU reset. I recommend going to a workshop.

Thanks, that's helpful. I went to the workshop, and they confirmed the faulty chip tuning. They reset the ECU, and everything seems to be running smoothly now. Cost me 180€ Appreciate the insight!
