I have no idea if the previous owner installed anything. How did you solve it?

Turns out, some previous owner had fiddled with the ECU trying to boost performance, and it messed everything up. My mechanic suggested an ECU reset. I recommend going to a workshop.

Thanks, that's helpful. I went to the workshop, and they confirmed the faulty chip tuning. They reset the ECU, and everything seems to be running smoothly now. Cost me 180€ Appreciate the insight!

Sounds familiar. I had the same issue with my old Saab 9-3, though it was a different engine. Reduced power, constant error lights. Was the third party something to do with a performance increase?
