Dynasty Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Hyundai Dynasty with a gasoline engine is experiencing transmission issues, including warning lights, limp mode, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection, potentially related to the radiator oil pressure. The solution involved replacing the faulty connection, resolving the issues and restoring smooth operation.

Oil cooler lines, huh? I hadn't considered that. No visible leaks, but maybe a hairline fracture? The radiator coolant level seems fine. Is the transmission connected to the radiator somehow? What should I look for?

Yes, the transmission fluid is often cooled by running through a part of the radiator. If there is a bad connection or internal damage, it can cause these issues. Given the symptoms, stored error codes, and grinding noises, I strongly recommend taking it to a shop with the appropriate diagnostic tools.

I appreciate the insight. A trip to the workshop was unavoidable. A defective cable/plug connection was the culprit. Replacing it cost 95€, now everything is smooth again.

I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-5. The transmission was behaving erratically, throwing codes. Did you check the oil cooler lines for leaks or damage? What about the radiator coolant level, is it where it should be?
