Dynasty uneven engine running
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Hyundai Dynasty was experiencing uneven engine running, with the check engine light on and jerking during acceleration. Despite changing the air filter, the issue persisted. A suggestion was made to check the crankshaft sensor and the exhaust system for leaks. Upon visiting a workshop, a leak in the exhaust system was identified and repaired, resolving the engine's uneven running.

Thanks! No, I didn't check the crankshaft sensor. Where is it located, and how can I check it? And how would I find an exhaust leak? I'm not that experienced.

Given your experience, I wouldn't try to locate and test the crankshaft sensor yourself, or find the exhaust leak. Both require expertise and tools. In my case, it was a small leak in the exhaust system, causing problems. I recommend taking your Hyundai to a trusted workshop and having them check the exhaust system thoroughly. The repair including diagnosis set me back 265€.

Thanks a lot! I took your advice and went to the workshop. They found a leak in the exhaust system, just like you said. They fixed it, and now the engine runs smoothly again! You saved me a lot of time and probably money, too.

I had a similar issue with my Dynasty. Your symptoms sound familiar. Did you check the crankshaft sensor? It could also be a leak in the exhaust system, which can cause uneven running.
