E Klasse exhaust flap problem
Summary of the thread
A 2023 hybrid E Klasse owner reported issues with the exhaust flap, experiencing louder exhaust noise, particularly on cold starts, and suspected a faulty flap motor. Interesting I have noticed no unusual vibrations but the louder exhaust noise is definitely there and most prominent after starting the engine Did your diagnostic specifically pinpoint the flap motor as the culprit or was it more of a general exhaust system error

The initial diagnostic indicated a malfunction within the exhaust system triggering the CEL Further investigation by a qualified technician using XENTRY diagnostics confirmed the defect originated within the flap motor itself I advise having it checked at a workshop A defective flap can lead to further complications

I have a similar E Klasse albeit I opted for a petrol engine I had comparable symptoms a while back Louder than normal exhaust noise especially noticeable during regeneration cycles The diagnostic also pointed towards the exhaust valves Did you check for any unusual vibrations or rattling sounds originating from the exhaust system itself
