E Klasse Uneven Engine Running

My 2006 Mercedes E Klasse with a gasoline engine is running unevenly. It has 107745 km, the check engine light is on, and there are error codes. I also feel jerking during acceleration. I think it might be an exhaust leak. Could it be the fuel injectors or oxygen sensor? The air filter is fine and the timing belt seems okay, but could it be an engine misfire?

I had a similar issue with my E Klasse, but I didn't check the error codes. I had jerky acceleration and a dash light. Have you checked for exhaust leaks? Listen when the engine is cold, as they're loudest then. I'm not a mechanic, but it's worth a look before replacing fuel injectors.

It was worse when the engine was cold, definitely. It seemed to happen more at lower speeds. I didn't find the leak myself. A shop found a crack in the exhaust manifold, fixed it, and the problem was solved. If you suspect a leak, take it to a workshop. Exhaust fumes are dangerous.

I appreciate the advice to consult a workshop. I had the car inspected and a minor exhaust leak was found. The repair cost 265€. The uneven running and symptoms are now resolved. Thanks again for your help.
