Ecosport Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Error

I'm experiencing a peculiar issue with my 2006 Ford Ecosport (gasoline engine) with 207287 km. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, and the braking is noticeably diminished. Diagnostic tools revealed an error stored in memory relating to the brake booster pressure sensor. Could an incorrect brake bleeding procedure be the cause?

I had something similar happen with my Ecosport. Did you notice if the brake pedal feels different? Maybe softer or travels further down than usual?

Yes, the brake pedal does seem to have more travel than usual. Did you also have an error code related to the brake booster?

That confirms my suspicion. The symptoms are strikingly similar to the issue I encountered. The error code was also related to the brake booster. While there might be other causes, I'd recommend a thorough inspection by a qualified mechanic to ensure proper diagnosis and repair. A faulty brake booster can severely compromise safety.

Thanks for the insight. It seemed prudent to seek professional assistance. The shop confirmed the brake booster pressure sensor failure, likely caused by a previous incorrect brake bleeding. The replacement and proper bleeding cost 90€, and the issue is now resolved.
