Ecosport Brake Light Error

Hey, I'm having trouble with the brake light on my 2016 Ford Ecosport diesel with 193091 km. I'm getting an error and the light isn't working. The infotainment system also shows an error. I think it could be the brake light switch, but I'm not sure how to diagnose it.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms: error message and a dead tail light. Have you checked the brake pedal position?

Yeah, sure. I mean, in my case, it turned out to be a faulty brake switch. It's located near the brake pedal. Taking it to a workshop might be the easiest solution.

Thanks again for the advice! I checked the brake switch like you said, and it was the problem. It was just dislodged somehow – probably my fault. I reconnected it, and everything's working now. No repair costs!
