Ecosport central locking failure

I'm having a nightmare with my 2016 Ford Ecosport (gasoline engine). The doors just won't lock or unlock anymore! The central locking is completely dead. I'm pretty sure it's not the battery in the key fob, because I tried the spare and that doesn't work either. The mileage is currently 37087 km. I'm thinking maybe a fuse, but I checked them all and they seem fine. Any ideas?

It sounds like you might have a faulty door contact signal. Have you noticed any issues with the interior lights not working correctly when you open the doors? Also, has the wiring harness ever been damaged or repaired in the past?

No, the interior lights seem to be working just fine when I open the doors. As far as I know, the wiring harness hasn't been damaged or repaired, but I did buy it used a couple of years ago, so I don't know its full history. What does the door contact signal actually do?

The door contact signal informs the car's computer whether the doors are open or closed. If the signal is faulty, it can prevent the automatic locks from functioning. Based on your description and the mileage, a defective cable or plug connection within the component is likely. I would suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was a defective cable connection. They fixed it for 95€, and now the central locking is working perfectly again. Really appreciate the help!
