Ecosport Charge Air Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2022 Ford Ecosport experienced a check engine light, reduced engine power, and a loud hissing noise upon acceleration, with an OBD error pointing to the charge air temperature sensor. The issue was traced to a corroded pin in the sensor's connector, which was not making proper contact. After cleaning the pin and replacing the sensor and pigtail connector, the problems were resolved, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for the quick response! I wiggled the connector, but didn't see anything obvious. Was your issue on the Opel also related to a faulty connector, or something else entirely?

For me it was indeed the connector. Visually it looked okay, but I think there was corrosion inside. I wiggled it a bit too much and it broke off. I'd suggest you check the pins inside really carefully. However, considering your symptoms, it might be best to get it checked out at a workshop. Better safe than sorry.

Appreciate the advice! I inspected the connector more closely, and you were right, one of the pins was corroded. I cleaned it up as best I could, but I think it's still not making perfect contact. I took it to my local shop, and the diagnostic pointed directly to the charge air temperature sensor. They replaced the sensor and the pigtail connector, total cost 95€. The hissing is gone, and the car is running like new again. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra, although the error code was different. Reduced power and a hissing sound usually points to an air leak. Did you check the cable and plug connection of the sensor? Maybe there's a loose connection or damaged wire.
