The cruise control on a 2008 Ford Ecosport stopped working, and the issue was identified as a defective cable. Initially, there was uncertainty about the cause, with suggestions to check the fuse box or consider a defective pedal switch. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by repairing the cable.

Thanks for the suggestion. Which fuse should I check and where is it located?

I wish I could tell you exactly which one and its location, but I am not sure. If the fuse isn't the problem, it could unfortunately be a defective cable or plug connection. When mine failed, the issue was more complex, and I had to take it to a workshop. I was also told the pedal switch could be defective.

Thanks for your help! It turned out to be a defective cable. Cost me 95€ to repair. At least it’s sorted now.

Interesting. I had something similar happen in my Ecosport not too long ago, also cruise control related. Have you checked the fuse box? It might be a simple blown fuse for the cruise control system. That's always the first and easiest thing to check.
