Ecosport electric steering column malfunction

I'm having trouble with the electric steering column adjustment on my 2008 Ford Ecosport diesel. The error memory shows a stored error, and the steering column can't be adjusted electrically. I think it's a bad cable or plug connection. Has anyone else seen this?

Sounds like a pain. Something similar happened with my Ecosport. Does it make any strange noises when you try to adjust it, or is it just completely dead? It's like when your house lights flicker – you know something's up but can't quite put your finger on it.

Thanks for the reply. It's completely dead, no noises at all, so maybe the connection is broken. Do you remember what caused it and how you fixed it?

In my case, it was a faulty connection, like you suspect. I'd suggest having a workshop look at it. Messing with the steering column can be risky, a bit like performing surgery on yourself – better to let a professional handle it.

Thanks for the advice and the analogy, I'll take it to the workshop. The repair cost 95€, and it was indeed a faulty connection. Issue solved.
