Ecosport engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford Ecosport is experiencing engine stalling at idle and reduced power, accompanied by a check engine light. The issue may be linked to a faulty fuel volume regulator, potentially caused by a defective high-pressure pump. Scanning for error codes and consulting a mechanic are recommended steps to diagnose and resolve the problem.

Fuel economy has been worse, now that you mention it. I thought it was just me driving harder. As for codes, haven't had a chance to scan it yet. But could a defective fuel volume regulator really cause all these problems at once? Seems like a lot of symptoms for one little part.

Yeah, turns out a faulty fuel volume regulator can throw things off big time. In my case, the high pressure pump was defective, which led to the regulator failing. If you are getting reduced engine power, it's best to take it to a workshop. Ended up costing me around 1510€ to get it sorted, but the car runs like new now.

Ouch, that's a pricey fix. But thanks for the heads-up. I'll get it scanned and take it to a trusted mechanic. Seems like that fuel volume regulator is the likely culprit. At least I have an idea of what to expect.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Ecosport not too long ago. The check engine light, the rough idling... Is your fuel economy also in the toilet? Have you scanned the car for any error codes?
