Ecosport Idle Air Control Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Ford Ecosport owner experienced a check engine light and engine stalling, suspecting an issue with the idle air control (IAC) valve and possible intake contamination. The problem was confirmed to be related to the IAC valve, with excessive buildup in the intake. Cleaning the throttle body was suggested as a potential solution, but ultimately, professional servicing was required to resolve the issue, resulting in improved vehicle performance.

Throttle body, huh? I haven't checked that yet. Is it difficult to get to on the Ecosport? Any tips for cleaning it, or should I just replace it?

It's usually not too bad to access. Cleaning it is worth a shot before replacing anything. But if the problem persists, and given the error code, it's likely the IAC valve itself. A workshop visit might be in order to confirm.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were right. Ended up being the IAC valve, and they said the intake was pretty gunked up. Cost me 425€ to get it all sorted. Runs like new now though!

Sounds like a plausible cause. Have you checked the throttle body for excessive carbon buildup? That can definitely mess with the IAC valve's performance.
