Ecosport Mirror Heating Fault

My 2020 Ford Ecosport diesel at 215076 km has a mirror heating issue. Diagnostic checks show an error in the mirror heating circuit. I've checked fuses and relays. I suspect a defective cable or plug. Has anyone else experienced this?

Interesting problem. It reminds me of an issue I had with my 2016 Opel Astra. Same symptoms—mirror heating not working, error code. It was a corroded connector in the door harness, blocking the current. Have you checked the wiring harness into the door, especially the flexing section? Also, are you getting voltage at the mirror connector?

Thanks for the reply. Could you elaborate on how you checked the voltage at the mirror connector? Which pins or terminals did you target with the multimeter? Did you test with the engine running or just the ignition on?

I had the ignition in the 'on' position. I found the wiring diagram for my Astra online and identified the positive and negative terminals for the heating element. I carefully back-probed the connector while it was plugged in. If you're not comfortable with that, unplug it and test the vehicle-side connector. Given your experience, it might be faster to take it to a workshop with automotive electrics experience. They have the tools and diagrams to pinpoint it quickly.

I appreciate the detailed guidance. I've decided to take it to professionals. The repair, likely a defective connection, is estimated at 95€.
