Ecosport Overvoltage Faults
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Ford Ecosport diesel is experiencing multiple fault memory entries related to overvoltage, leading to various system failures and a weak battery. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defective alternator, specifically the voltage regulator, which is part of the alternator. The solution involves diagnosing and replacing the faulty alternator, which successfully resolves the electrical problems.

The voltage regulator... Is that part of the alternator, or is it a separate unit? And would that cause all those symptoms?

Yes, it is usually part of the alternator. And in my case, it caused a cascade of electrical problems. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop; they can diagnose it properly.

Thank you for the insights. It turned out to be a defective alternator. The repair, including a new alternator and labor, cost 290€. Your advice helped me point the workshop in the right direction!

Overvoltage... Isn't that usually an alternator issue? I had similar electrical gremlins with my old Opel Astra a few years back. Did you check the voltage regulator?
