Edge automatic temperature control issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford Edge is experiencing issues with its automatic temperature control, where the AC won't activate and an error code is present. The problem may stem from a faulty interior temperature sensor or a bad cable or plug. Inaccurate temperature readings suggest a sensor issue, and checking connections for looseness or corrosion is advised. The recommended solution is to have a workshop confirm and replace the sensor if necessary.

Yeah, the temperature reading does seem inaccurate. It's always way higher than it actually is outside. What did you do to fix it?

I'm not super mechanically inclined, so I didn't mess with it myself. I took it straight to a workshop. They confirmed it was the interior temp sensor, checked the wiring, and replaced the sensor. Probably the best course of action unless you're really comfortable with HVAC stuff.

Okay, I think I'll take it to a workshop then. Thanks for the help!

I had something similar in my Edge (don't remember the year). Sounds spot on. Does the temperature reading seem off, too? Like, way hotter or colder than it actually is in the car? Could be a bad sensor, but check those connections like you said. They can get loose or corroded.
