Edge engine overheating

I've got a 2021 Ford Edge diesel with 162614 km. Experiencing engine overheating. Suspect a faulty electric fan – looks like either the cable or plug connection is defective. Anyone else had similar issues with engine cooling or the fan motor?

Whoa, overheating is scary! I had something similar happen with my Edge. I was losing my mind, thinking it was the radiator fan or even the fan clutch giving out, but it turned out to be a simple electrical connection thing. Was the fan not running at all?

Yeah, the fan isn't running. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. When yours was acting up, was it completely dead, or was it intermittent?

Mine was completely dead too! I'd say it's worth getting it checked out. Could be a quick fix like mine, or something a bit more involved. I know a dodgy fan motor can cause havoc. I'd take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! It was indeed a faulty cable connection, just like you suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Appreciate the help!
