Edge Keyless Entry and Starting Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Ford Edge (gasoline engine). It's got about 222302 km on it. Lately, the keyless entry has been acting up – sometimes it doesn't unlock or lock. Even stranger, I can't start the car without physically putting the key in the ignition. The car throws an error, but my code reader just shows something about the bumper antenna. Could a faulty car antenna really cause all this? It feels like when your TV antenna isn't plugged in properly and you get no signal.

I had something similar happen with my Edge. It sounds like a cable or plug connection of the component is defective. Does the error code specifically point to the bumper antenna, and is it consistent?

Yes, the error is always related to the bumper antenna. So, you're saying a bad connection there could actually stop the engine from starting without the key?

Correct. In my case, it was the bumper antenna connection. If it's indeed the antenna, I suggest visiting a workshop. The fault can be localized and resolved relatively quickly there.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out, it was the bumper antenna connection. The workshop confirmed it. They cleaned the connection, and everything works perfectly again. The bill was 95€ Appreciate the help!
