I used a standard OBD-II scanner, which flagged a generic error related to the humidity sensor circuit. After consulting the service manual, it pointed towards the fog sensor which is integrated into the automatic climate control system. Do you remember if the diagnostic tool you used gave a specific sensor code?

Ah, I see. My experience mirrors yours – generic sensor code, similar cascading failures. Frankly, after chasing a few ghosts, I ended up taking it to a workshop. For 95€ they replaced a faulty connector. It might be worth getting them to check the wiring, you could solve it yourself.

Thanks! I appreciate the confirmation. I'll check the cable and plug connection first, but if I can't resolve it quickly, I'll take it to the workshop as you suggested. Seems like the most efficient path forward. Problem solved!

Interesting. I have an Elantra Hybrid too, and those symptoms sound eerily familiar. Could you elaborate on how you came to suspect the fog sensor? Did you use a specific diagnostic tool?
