Elantra power steering vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2014 gasoline Elantra experienced power steering issues, including vibration, shaking, spongy handling, and an error message, suggesting intermittent power steering failure. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection. After taking the car to a workshop, the issue was confirmed to be a defective connection within the power steering system, which was resolved by cleaning the contacts in the cable.

Could low hydraulic fluid cause these symptoms, even with the error code pointing to an electrical fault? Also, when you say pressure hose, are you referring to a specific component, and how could that cause the vibrations?

Low fluid in my Corsa caused similar shaking and heavy steering. The pressure hose could be leaking or failing, messing with the power assist. I'd get it checked out by a workshop though, just to be sure. Could also be a wheel alignment issue, but the error code makes me think it's more serious.

Took it to a workshop. It was a defective connection within the power steering system, like I thought. Cleaning the contacts in the cable fixed it for 95€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had something similar with my old Opel Corsa. The steering wheel was shaking like crazy. Did you check your hydraulic fluid level? Maybe a pressure hose issue? I'm not a mechanic, but those were the suggestions I got back then.
