Elantra Windshield Washer Heater Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra's windshield washer heater system was malfunctioning, with an error stored and spray nozzles freezing in cold temperatures. Diagnostics pointed to a defective cable or plug connection as the likely cause. After inspecting the wiring, a defective plug connection was identified and replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks! Could you be more specific about which fuse(s) are for the windshield washer heater? The Elantra's fuse diagram is ambiguous. Also, I'm using a winter blend rated to -30°C, so that shouldn't be the problem. Could other electrical components trigger this error?

Okay, a -30°C blend should rule out the fluid itself; like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, the extra protection is always good! I don’t have the Elantra-specific fuse layout memorized unfortunately. Given the error code and frozen nozzles despite proper fluid, it really does sound like the heating element itself or its wiring is shot. If you've checked the easy stuff (fuses, fluid), honestly, it might be time to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Diagnosing electrical gremlins can be a real pain without the proper tools and knowledge. You could spend hours chasing wires for something a mechanic could pinpoint in minutes.

Thanks for the follow-up. I inspected the wiring and found a defective plug connection. Replacing the plug cost 95€. The system is now working.

Whoa, a windshield washer heater problem? That's a new one. It's like having heated seats for your windshield wipers! Seriously though, have you checked the fuse box? Sometimes those little gremlins cause all sorts of weird electrical issues. It's like a tripped breaker – easy to overlook but can shut down the whole operation. Also, are you using proper winter washer fluid? The cheap stuff freezes solid at the first sign of frost. Just my two cents, hope it helps!
