Electric Mini Cabrio Outside Temperature Sensor Fault

Interesting about the Volvo. The vehicle temperature gauge on the Mini seems normal, which is what's throwing me off. Could it still be the temperature sensor if the gauge is working fine? Is it possible that there are multiple temperature sensors?

It's quite possible. Think of it like this: your body has different sensors for different things. One sensor tells you the air temperature, another tells you if your hand is on a hot stove. Your car is similar. The sensor for the gauge might be fine, but the one used for the AC, mirror heating, and spray nozzles could be bad. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to confirm the error and do the temperature sensor replacement.

Just wanted to let you know how this ended. Took the Mini to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the outside temperature sensor. They ran some sensor diagnostics, did a temperature sensor replacement and the total sensor replacement cost ended up being 95€. Air conditioning is blowing cold, the mirror heating is working again, and no more error codes. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a faulty outside temperature sensor. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo, though the symptoms were slightly different. The vehicle temperature gauge was all over the place. Does the Mini's vehicle temperature gauge seem to be reading correctly, or is it giving strange readings too? It could be a sensor malfunction or, as you suspect, a wiring issue.
