Electric steering column adjustment without function
4 comment(s)
Ahoy, blokes! I'm certainly familiar with this particular problem on my own '09 Fiat Idea. Same mileage as yours, and fuel type as well. Funny enough, it was the steering column motor causing all the trouble. I'm just curious that repair job on your Punto, do you remember about how much it dipped into your wallet? And have you noticed any further problems since it was fixed? Cheers!
Hey there! I totally get ya, that steering column motor was giving me a right headache! So here's the deal the repair job for the motor cable connection on my Punto didn’t create too big of a hole in the wallet. About 155€ thereabouts. And you know what? Since it was fixed, it's been smooth sailing – like a dream cruise! No more problematic problems to report on the steering column adjustment, thank goodness. Way smoother than my prior mechanic experience, I'll tell you that much. So definitely worth looking into if you’re having the same trouble! Hope that sorts you out, cheers!
Hey guys! Can't thank you enough for the tips. Now I have a pretty solid idea about the steering column motor issue. It's a relief to know that it shouldn't break the bank to fix and it's fixable. Sounds like it's definitely what's going on with mine. I'll get it into a shop and get it sorted as soon as possible. You guys are life-savers! Keep you updated how it goes. Cheers!
Hey! I feel your pain. I had a similar headache with my '11 Fiat Punto. My steering column motor cable was up the spout too. Straight up, it's not a walk in the park but it ain't impossible either. It was indeed a motor issue for me. They had to open up the whole steering column to replace the defective motor. The good news, it fixed the problem for good and the steering has been perfect since then. Just to give you heads up, it's definitely a bit of a job, not a quick fix, but not a major serious issue either. Hope this helps. Good luck!
