Electrical fault in VW Touareg 2007: Flickering lights and weak battery - advice wanted

Hello community, I currently have a rather annoying problem with my 2007 VW Touareg with a gasoline engine. It seems to be a general electrical fault that is always stored. I also have flickering lights and a low battery when starting. I suspect that it may have something to do with the interruption of terminal 15. Do any of you have experience with this and any troubleshooting tips? How did you solve this in your car? I appreciate any help and experience. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, as someone with a little experience (not a lot, but a little), I had a similar problem with my 2009 VW Tiguan. For me it was also an electrical fault due to a faulty cable connection. I took it to my local garage and they were able to fix the faulty cable connection for 170 euros. I would suggest that you maybe get it checked too. Could you tell me a bit more about the model, mileage etc. of your car? That way I might be able to help you more accurately.

Thank you very much for your quick and helpful reply! My Touareg is a 2007 model and already has 235,000 km on the clock. Apart from that, it is extremely reliable and hasn't had any major faults so far. There were no particular anomalies at the last inspection. Your tip about the faulty cable connection sounds quite plausible, I'll have it checked out. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

No problem, I'm happy to help! With such a high mileage, such electrical problems can sometimes occur. It's good that it's otherwise so reliable! I would definitely have the cable connection checked. Or maybe it could be the battery or the alternator. In my case it was the cable, but you should consider all possible causes when troubleshooting. I hope this helps you. Please keep us informed of any further developments! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's solved soon.
