Electrical Problems in 2020 Lexus LX Diesel: Seeking Advice

Hey car-savvy I've got a tricky issue with my 2020 Lexus LX Diesel, clocked around 78K km. Been experiencing some electrical problems like inconsistent lighting, unusual fault alerts, a seemingly hungover battery when cranking up, and what seems like a general electronic blues. I'm guessing it's something to do with that pesky terminal 15 interruption. Had some less-than-stellar encounters at the mechanic's lately, so here I am. Any of you ever face this with your rides? And how'd your mechanic handle it? Would love some advice before taking her in again. Cheers!

Hey there, I feel your plight! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Lexus RX. Mine was hitting around 80k km when it first started to behave off, much like your LX. Faulty lights, odd alerts, and having some stumbling starts as if the battery had a rough night. I figured it would be the terminal 15 relay too, but turns out the culprit was the notorious Motor Control Main Relay. Once those start on their naughty list, they can cause the whole electrical ecosystem in your car to malfunction, replicating symptoms that point to other false culprits. I had it fixed up at my local garage. They did a neat job replacing it and sorting out the electrical glitches. Without a doubt, it was a serious gig given it was messing up the entire electronic chain, but it was definitely essential. So, it's certainly worth considering this as a possibility. Hope this helps! Let us know how it turns out, yeah? Cheers!

Hey there! it's a bummer to hear about your car blues, especially with a beaut like a 2020 Lexus LX. I feel you! I had a run-in with a somewhat similar issue on my old beat-up Yamabishi. The ghosts in the machine can be a real pain in the bumper. That said, the Motor Control Main Relay tip from our fellow comrade here sounds pretty on point. It's a sneaky bugger when it starts acting up. It had me tearing my hair out trying to figure out exactly what was going wrong until my trusty old-school mechanic nailed it down for me. By the way, do you recall what the relay replacement and the whole fix-up cost you back then? I'm just wondering for reference, in case my memory fails me next time. And was that the end of it or did something else rear its mischievous head since the repair? Cheers!

Heyo, Tell me about it, these car goblins can really have their way sometimes! And yep, the Motor Control Main Relay was indeed the sneaky little bugger stirring up all the trouble in my Lexus RX. After a visit to my mechanic, things have been smooth sailing, thankfully. He got the terminal 15 interruption sorted out and ever since, my ride's been behaving just fine. As for the costs, setting the Relay right set me back by about 130€ - relief for the wallet, compared to the stress it was causing me. So far, nothing else has popped up since the repair - fingers crossed, knock on wood and all that jazz! Hope this gives you a ballpark figure in case you ever find yourself in a similar situation with your motor. Catch ya! Cheers!

Hey guys, Wow, thanks for the quick replies and the sound advice. It's great to have such a supportive and knowledgeable community. I appreciate your insight into the Motor Control Main Relay causing these issues; I didn't even consider that! It's slightly comforting to hear that it took about 130€ to fix. Better than burning a hole in my pocket with a wild goose chase of terminal 15 interruptions and what not. I'm going to bring these leads to the mechanic and hopefully nip this in the. You guys are lifesavers! I'll drop a quick line about how it goes after the visit. Fingers crossed, and knock on wood, for a smooth ride back home! Stay awesome, car gurus! Cheers!
