Electronics problems with the 2018 BMW 2 Series petrol engine: sat nav failure and warning lights

Hello everyone, I have a few problems with my 2018 BMW 2 Series gasoline engine, which now has 27790 km on it. The electronics have recently started to go haywire, my sat nav sometimes won't start at all or only after a while. And sometimes a warning light comes on in the speedometer. Have any of you had similar problems and can tell me how they were solved by your mechanic? My last visit to the garage wasn't that great, so I'd better ask here before I go there again. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I know this, something similar happened to me with my 2015 BMW 2 Series diesel. It was annoying with the sat nav, but I didn't have a warning light on. The garage suspected that the communication between the control units was faulty. After a lengthy troubleshooting and repair at the factory, everything is working perfectly again. However, it was not a quick and easy fix. I hope this helps you. Good luck with it!

Hey, sure, I still remember that. So the communication problem between the control units was fixed. It cost me a whopping 290 euros. According to the workshop, the reason for this was problems in the vehicle electrical system and the battery, where there were voltage fluctuations. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hey, 290 euros is still doable. Now I feel better prepared when I take my car to the garage. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly and I won't have to see the warning lights again. Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed. Wishing you continued smooth driving! See you then!

We had a problem with the earth contact on the battery, this terminal was not clamping properly ........... now everything is working again without any problems

Hello, I upgraded the phone in my E60 530xi from Nokia 3110 to Samsung, after which the SOS system and Bluetooth failed. Presumably this caused a fault in the BUS system, I am still looking to see if the control unit has remained intact.

Hi I had similar problems with my sat nav. Just went off and on again while driving. I went straight to the garage. A software update was carried out on my BMW there. And fortunately, I've had peace of mind ever since.

Hi, I had similar problems with a 2007 BMW 3 Series (E91). In my case, the problem was solved by restarting the control units (disconnecting the battery for a minute)!
