Elgrand Boost Pressure Actuator Fault

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I scanned it and it points to a boost pressure actuator fault. I don't have a pressure sensor, unfortunately. When you say 'faulty actuator,' are you thinking electrical issues, or a mechanical failure in the turbo actuator itself? Any way to diagnose that without specialized tools?

In my case, the fault stemmed from a defective electrical bypass valve within the actuator itself. Diagnosing the root cause precisely without specialized tools can be challenging. Given the error code and symptoms, I'd recommend having a workshop perform a thorough diagnostic. They can perform tests to determine if the actuator is receiving the correct signals and if the valve is functioning correctly.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the electrical bypass valve in the boost pressure actuator. They replaced the actuator, and the Elgrand is back to its old self. Total cost was around 250€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the help!

Your symptoms suggest a potential issue with the boost pressure actuator. I encountered a similar problem with my 2017 Volvo V90. Reduced power, whistling sound... it all points to a faulty actuator. Have you had the system scanned for specific error codes? Do you have access to a pressure sensor to check the actual boost pressure?
