Elgrand engine knocking pre ignition

I've got a 2017 Nissan Elgrand with a gasoline engine and about 60k km on it. Recently, I've noticed reduced engine power and a jerking sensation when accelerating. There's also some smoke when I put my foot down. The error memory shows something, but I haven't diagnosed that yet. Could this be pre-ignition due to combustion chamber deposits?

I drive an Elgrand as well. Your description sounds suspiciously like the engine knock I had. I'm no mechanic, but are you hearing any unusual noises, perhaps a knocking or pinging sound, especially when the engine is under load?

Yes, come to think of it, there is a knocking sound, especially when accelerating. Are you saying this could be detonation? Was the error code related?

Thanks for the input. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was carbon buildup causing pre-ignition. The quote for cleaning the combustion chamber was 425€. Problem solved.
