Elgrand Intake Manifold Flap Control Issue

My 2001 Nissan Elgrand diesel is having issues at 114640 km. I think it's an intake manifold flap control problem. Symptoms are reduced power, rough running, jerking when accelerating, a loud hissing sound during acceleration, and higher fuel consumption. Anyone seen this?

Those symptoms strongly suggest an issue with the intake manifold airflow control. Is the engine light on? Could also be engine misfire from incorrect airflow. Can you read error codes?

Thanks. Yes, the engine light is on. I can't read error codes myself. Are you saying the intake manifold control switch is defective?

Based on the symptoms and engine light, it's highly probable the intake manifold control is defective, especially with the hissing sound. Error codes would confirm. I'd suggest a workshop visit to verify. I'd guess the repair will be about 465€.

Thanks for the help. The workshop confirmed a defective intake manifold flap control switch. The final repair cost was, as you predicted, 465€. The car runs much better now.
