Elgrand preheating lamp issue

I'm having a real headache with my 2000 Nissan Elgrand diesel. The preheating lamp just won't switch off, and I've got an error stored. I'm guessing it's something to do with the glow plugs, but I'm not really sure where to start. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Elgrand. Is the check engine light on as well? When was the last time you replaced the glow plugs? They might be defective. Check for engine misfire, especially when starting.

Yes, the check engine light is on too! I haven't replaced the glow plugs since I bought the car, so probably never. How did you fix yours, and was it definitely the glow plugs?

Yeah, sounds very similar to what I experienced. In my case, it turned out to be a defective glow plug indeed. I had it checked at a workshop. I'd recommend getting yours diagnosed properly too. It can save you a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – glow plugs were the culprit! Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Appreciate your help!
