Elgrand radar sensor issue

I've got a 2000 Nissan Elgrand with a diesel engine, and the radar sensor seems to have gone belly up. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, and the system has stored a fault code, which is causing issues with other safety features. The warning light is also on. I'm pretty sure it's just a dirty sensor. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Yep, had similar on a 2016 Volvo. Driver assistance systems throwing a fit. By 'failure of various systems' do you mean things like cruise control and emergency braking are disabled? Is the sensor itself easily accessible on the Elgrand?

Exactly, cruise control's out, and I suspect the emergency braking is too, though I haven't tested it! The sensor looks accessible – it's behind the front grille, I believe. What did you end up doing about yours?

Confirmed. Same systems were disabled on the Volvo. Cleaning didn't fix it. I'd advise getting it checked. Could be a calibration issue, or the sensor itself might be faulty. A workshop can diagnose properly.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local shop, and you were spot on – needed a proper cleaning (turns out compressed air did the trick) and recalibration. Cost me 45€ and everything is back to normal. Appreciate the help!
