Elgrand Tire Pressure ABS and Steering Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Nissan Elgrand is experiencing issues with a persistent tire pressure warning, an ABS light activation, and increased steering effort accompanied by vibrations. The problem may stem from a defective valve affecting the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which could also impact the ABS system. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to address the valve issue and ensure safe driving conditions.

It started pretty suddenly, yeah. I'll double-check the tire pressure with another gauge, thanks for the suggestion. But if the tires are properly inflated, what else could cause these symptoms along with the tire pressure warning and the ABS light? Is it safe to drive like this?

Okay, sudden onset is key info! When mine did that, the tire pressure was fine, but it turned out to be a defective valve in the tire itself. The tire place said it messes with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which then throws off the ABS. And yeah, with the steering getting wonky, you definitely don't want to risk driving it much! Get it checked out ASAP. It ended up costing me around 280€ to get it sorted, unfortunately.

Thanks a lot! A defective valve makes sense. I'll take it to my local workshop to have the valve checked. Hopefully, that fixes it. I appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have an Elgrand too, though I haven't run into the ABS light thing. But the tire pressure warning, vibration, and steering effort – I totally get that! Did it start happening suddenly, or did it creep up on you? Maybe check your tires with a different tire gauge to be sure. You may have a low tire after all. Is it happening with all your tires or just one? Definitely don't ignore that vibrating/shaking steering wheel!
