Elysion High Fuel Consumption Poor Start
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Honda Elysion was experiencing high fuel consumption and poor starting, suspected to be due to a defective throttle valve or accelerator pedal module. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was suggested to check the throttle body for damage or debris. The problem was resolved by replacing the accelerator pedal module, which restored normal fuel consumption and resolved the starting issues.

Thanks for the quick reply! Rough idling, yes, now that you mention it. How did you eventually solve the throttle issue? Was it a simple clean or something more involved with the engine throttle?

Okay, so mine had very similar issues. Honestly, I'm not mechanically gifted, so I took it straight to a workshop. They confirmed the throttle valve was defective and advised a replacement. Saved me a lot of guesswork and potential further damage!

Appreciate the advice! I took it to a workshop to get the throttle valve checked. Turns out it was indeed the accelerator pedal module. Replacement set me back 205€, but the fuel consumption is back to normal and the starting issues are gone.

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Honda Elysion. Is it idling rough sometimes too? Mine was drinking fuel like crazy. Have you checked the control valve or the throttle body itself for any obvious gunk or damage?
