Elysion oil level sensor error

My 2011 Honda Elysion with a gasoline engine is throwing an oil level sensor error. I'm seeing a constant error message, many codes, the oil warning light, and sometimes the oil pressure lamp at 160577 km. I've checked the oil level and for leaks. My code reader says "Cable or plug connection of component defective". Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Honda Elysion is experiencing an oil level sensor error, displaying constant error messages, multiple codes, and oil warning lights. The issue might be due to a defective cable or plug connection, as indicated by a code reader. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing wiring issues, suggesting that checking for corrosion or damage in the wiring harness, especially near the sensor, could be a potential solution.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. Had something similar with my old BMW 5 series. Kept getting ghost oil warnings, even after topping up. The error codes were vague, just pointed to the sensor circuit being wonky. Have you checked the wiring harness for any corrosion or damage? Especially around the sensor itself.

BMW, huh? Interesting. I haven't gone deep into the harness yet. Is the harness the real culprit? Was your error intermittent, like a loose connection? The cost is estimated at 95€, so would love to narrow the possibilities before going to the workshop.

Yeah, turned out to be a chafed wire near the sensor connector on the BMW. Caused intermittent shorts. Given your car's age and the error code you're getting, I'd bet good money it's a wiring issue. Easiest bet is to bring it to a workshop. Save yourself the grief.

Okay, excellent. You've convinced me. I'll trace the wires and then bite the bullet. Probably just a dodgy connector that needs cleaning or replacing. Thanks for the input, I appreciate the sanity check before I went completely mad!
